Austin had his first official dentist visit yesterday. He did so well. He let the assistant do a cleaning and was excited about the movie playing above his head. He was so cute. Here's a pic of him being so good while in the chair. After I took him for ice cream cause I was so proud.

My Mom....

My moms birthday is coming up and I just wanted to tell everyone how much she means to me. My mom is the most loving and caring parent I have ever known. She truly wants the best for me and would give her right arm to help me. I love her very much and can't even begin to tell you all how thankful I am to have her. She is an amazing grandma to Austin and he just adores her. Love you mom!

Austin loves bubbles. Enough said.

We went to St. George the weekend of my actual birthday to visit family. My Aunt Kristen had just had a baby. Austin got to play with cousins. I took all the boys to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 3D. It was awesome! Then Uncle Paul showed Austin how to feed the chickens. You move the wood in the back yard and watch the chickens catch the cockroaches. Pretty gross. Austin had fun though. It was a good weekend.

I turned 24. Boo! Getting old sucks!

My friends and I celebrated my 24th by going to the Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley concert. It was a blast. Mellisa got out of control. Her mating call was hilarious. Thanks for getting us the tickets mom. I really do have the best mom ever!

Austin turns 3!

Austin turned three this year on August 20. I took some treats to his preschool to celebrate. He also got spoiled with presents, but we wont show you those cause you might get jealous.

Going to the Zoo

As a treat for Austin being so good getting stitches, I promised a trip to the zoo.

Austin gets Stitches

Austin got stitches a few months back. (I'm not good at this blog thing) He was being a boy in the bath tub and slipped and split open his chin. I'm proud of how calm I was through this all. I drove him to the clinic and they stitched him up. Six stitches! He did really good. It was when it was time to take them out that he freaked out.

Austin is Potty Training!

Austin started potty training a week ago and I am proud to say we're half way done.

Last night after dinner he went missing. It was oddly quiet and that means trouble. So I went looking for him and as I am walking by the bathroom there he was sitting on the potty with his shorts and big boy underwear on the floor. He looked at me and said, "Mommy! I pooped in the potty!". And sure enough he did! And all on his own! I was so proud of him that I gave him the biggest reward I had which was a large semi truck to keep your hot wheels cars in. Good boy Austin! Keep it up!

Austin

Austin made this cute photo and frame for me at school. He even decorated it himself. So cute!

4th of July Fun!

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! Mine was awesome. I went to a BBQ at a girlfriends house then to watch the fireworks from the Stadium of Fire with my sister and friends ( Jenna, Erin, and Kenzie in the pic) sitting on the lawn right in front of the Provo Temple. It was fun! I really miss my sis :(. I was sad I didn't get to have Austin, but he was with his dad for the holiday and I was told he had a lot of fun.

Our little family...

My little family started the day I found out I was pregnant January 24, 2006. That day I was told I was six weeks pregnant and even got to hear Austin's heartbeat. I couldn't stop smiling.
My mom was the first to know because we had plans to meet for lunch and I couldn't not explain why I had this permanent smile on my face. After lunch I raced home to tell my boyfriend the big news. I even got a speeding ticket! Miah and I were so excited that we cancelled our plans for that day to go sledding to go to his moms work and tell her our little family would be expanding. News spread fast and before long everybody knew and was excited for us!
The day finally came when we'd meet Austin for the first time September 20, 2006. It was an exciting day and I will never forget the magic of giving birth and holding your child for the very first time.
I'm sad to say that the family we had started out with didn't make it through my pregnancy as Miah had made some choices and started on another route for his life without us. We were able to part as friends and as parents. Though a family is what I had hoped for I know in my heart that my Heavenly Father had a different plan for Austin and I. We now share custody of Austin and we both take an active role in his life.
We are now back in Utah so I can continue my education and Austin can spend more time with his father. I recently graduated from school to be a Dental Assistant but have decided to further my education by going back to school. Austin is in a daycare that offers Pre pre-school and he knows his shapes, number, and colors. He loves to learn, read, sing, and play with mom. He is a very active little boy!
Though it is hard being a single mom, it is also very rewarding. With the help of my family I have been lucky enough to not feel the struggle of doing it all alone and have had a lot of help. I am very grateful to my family and faith as this is not an easy thing.
I know that it won't always be the two us, but for now it is and we are blessed with family, love, friends, and faith.
